Ribblehead Viaduct is part of the Settle-Carlisle railway line, so it's a working viaduct carrying passenger and freight services, not a monument to a lost line.
The obvious visual points of attraction of this structure are its scale, extent, design, textures and environment, but it's also a "soundscape." When I was there I met a couple. The wife said that her husband preferred this structure to cathedrals.
